Heat Press Settings for DTF Transfers
Getting consistent results with DTF transfers starts with dialing in your heat press. If you need a full walkthrough, refer to our DTF Pressing Instructions.
Standard DTF Settings
-
Temperature: 300°F
-
Pressure: Firm (around level 7)
-
Time: 10 seconds press, hot peel, then 5 second repress
Why These Settings Matter
Each variable plays a role:
-
Temperature activates adhesive
-
Pressure ensures full contact
-
Time bonds the transfer to the fabric
Incorrect settings are the most common cause of issues. See DTF Troubleshooting if you run into problems.
Adjusting for Different Fabrics
Different materials may require small adjustments.
-
Polyester: slightly lighter pressure
-
Heavy garments: slightly longer press
For fabric-specific guidance, see Best Fabrics for DTF Transfers.
